Harold G. Norris

Harold G. Norris, 84, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2018. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Harold drove for Mason-Dixon Lines for 24 years, later working for Carolina Freight, ABF, Brooks Enterprises, and finally retiring from Summers-Taylor. He enjoyed working with his son in their dirt track racing endeavors and also in the family kettle corn business. Harold was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Norris.
Harold is survived by his son, Rick Norris and wife Pam; and grandchildren, Tiffany and Heather Norris.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Don McCann officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at East Tennessee Cemetery with military honors by Boone Dam VFW Post 4933.
Pallbearers will be Vernon McCray, Mike McCrary, Ronnie Hale, Terry Shivley, Bobby Shaffer, and Billy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be former drivers of the Mason-Dixon Lines.
