Harold J. Holley, 91, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Wexford House. Born in New Britain, CT, Harold made his home in Brownwood, TX after meeting his true love, Geraldine Haley. For the past five years, Mr. Holley had resided in the Kingsport area. Harold was a World War II Veteran, having served with the U.S. Army and while living in Brownwood, TX, earned his pilots license. He was a member of Christ Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anne Paonessa Holley, four brothers and one sister.
Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine Holley of Kingsport; two daughters, Karen Robertson of Arab, AL, and Bonnie Holley of Kingsport; son, Chris Holley of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jay Smith, Monica Schirm and husband, Jeff; Ricky Aslin and wife, Shelly, and Russell Looney and wife, Lynae; seven great-grandchildren, Mia and Julia Schirm, Nicholas Smith, Austin, Avrey and Savanah Looney, and Jackson Scott; one special nephew, Howard "Chip" Holley, of Southington, CT; and several other nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Indian Path Medical Center ICU, the staffs at Wexford House, Interim Healthcare, Respite Care, and his favorite physical therapist, Nolie, Pastor Greg DePriest, and Christ Fellowship Church, and also the staff of Blue Ridge Properties.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Boone Dam VFW Post 4933.
