Harold F. McNabb, 82, of Kingsport, died Tuesday morning, February 20, 2007, at his home. He had been a Kingsport resident since 1950.
Harold was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on October 2, 1924, to the late Frank McNabb and Nora Warren McNabb. He served as a 1st Lt. Pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps
from 1942-1946, during World War II. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Mr. McNabb owned and operated McNabb Drug Store in Blountville, Tennessee, followed by Suburban Drug Company in the Lynn Garden Community. Later, he was employed by several other drugstores including Cave?s Pharmacy. Harold and his wife, Ruth, have been members of Mafair United Methodist Church since settling in Kingsport.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Hay McNabb of the home; one daughter, Nancy M. Burleson and her husband, Tom, and one son, Joe S. McNabb, Kingsport; four grandchildren , John Burleson, Rogersville, Jimmy Burleson, Cayla McNabb, and Caden McNabb, all of Kingsport; and one brother, James H. McNabb of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The family will receive friends at Mafair United Methodist Church from Noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary with Rev. Ralph Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Grandsons and members of the Loyalty Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers.
