Harold "Jack" Parker

Harold J. “Jack” Parker, 89 of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on  Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born on January 31, 1935 in Hawkins County to the late William O. and Burlie Arnold Parker,  residing in Kingsport most of his life. Jack became a union electrician, eventually retiring from Gibson Electric after 34 years of service. He volunteered his time to serving his community as an electrician, helping to build four Habitat for Humanity houses. Jack was a proud 55-year member of Vermont United Methodist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John, Bill, Fred, Jim, Charlie, Polly Price, Helen Parker, Francis Parker and Sandra Lawson. 

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Gilbert Parker; sisters, Margaret Gray and Ruth Dexter.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 1:00-2:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kim Isley-Selby officiating. A graveside service will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660.
