Harold L. "Sonny" Short

Harold L. "Sonny" Short, age 78, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a period of declining health.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Maggie and Dallas Short; brother, Bobby Short, all formerly of Gate City, VA.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Short; sister, Remona Hammock of Winter Haven, FL; father-in-law, Carl Hustig of Kingsport; children, Stephanie Plekkenpol and husband Kevin, Karen Short, Wendy Short, all of Land of Lakes, FL, Natlie Urnio and Doug Short of Tampa, FL, Emily and James Southerland, Ross and Emily Short, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Ryan Urino of Tampa, FL, Molly Short and Travis Cook of Land of Lakes, FL, Noah Southerland and Ethan Short both of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 8th at Calvary Church, 178 Pickens Ridge Road, Johnson City, TN 37615. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.
