Harold Delane Tate, 87, passed away peacefully in the early hours on June 9, 2022, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Harold was born on July 23, 1934, in Kingsport TN but grew up in the hills around Johnson City where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great Tennessee outdoors. After High School he enlisted in the US Air Force where he proudly served for four years. After serving he returned to Kingsport where he worked in the Greenville Glass Plant for ten years. Afterwards, he opened his painting business which he owned and operated for over thirty years. He has always been an avid car enthusiast and loved driving and restoring Street Rods. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our Hearts!
He was preceded in death by Betty Tate; his parents, Keith and Nannie Mae Tate; his sister, Christine Archer; and his brother, Melvin Tate.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jaynelle Bishop-Tate; his daughters, Penny Brock and husband Joseph of Richmond, VA, and Deborah Caserta and husband Dino of Johnson City, TN; his grandchildren, Dustin Caserta, Zack Caserta, Danielle Caserta; and great grandchild, Dylan Caserta.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Washington County Memory Gardens, 113 Memory Gardens Road, Johnson City, TN, with Pastor Ryan Shaffer officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
