Harris N. Stephens, Jr., 71, went to live forever in his heavenly home on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his home.

He was born December 14, 1941 in Lawrenceburg, TN. Harris and his beloved wife Barbara were married on March 14, 1961 and enjoyed every moment of their nearly 53 years together. He proudly served his country with distinction in the United States Navy serving on early warning flight crews over the Pacific from 1959-1962. Harris earned a degree in Chemistry from Tennessee Technological University in 1967 and received a Master of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University in 1973. Mr. Stephens dedicated his work life to Eastman Chemical Company and retired as Business Manager for Asia Pacific after 33 years of loyal service in 1998. He and his wife are members of First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport.

Harris was preceded in death by his father, Harris N. Stephens and mother, Annie Mae Grooms Stephens.

His love for his family was his greatest passion. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Bruce (Cathy), daughter Robyn Budine (Marc) and son Scott (Lacey). He was the proud and loved grandfather to Luke, Laney, Taylor, Leah, Ansley and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister, Susie King (Ted), brother Thomas (Masami), brother-in-law, Richard Burks (Pat), several nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 1-3:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jack P. Weikel and Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. An inurnment service will follow at First Broad Street United Methodist Church Columbarium. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, 100 E. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660.
