Harry Lee Light, 84, of Church Hill, formerly of Beech Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 41 years service.
Mr. Light was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and taught the Adult Women's Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kyle B. Light and mother, Bertha Bernard Light; four sisters; four brothers; and three infant siblings.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Susie Light; daughter, Barbara Light of Fredericksburg, VA; sons, Karl Light of Kingsport and Phil Light of Telford; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Morelock and Pastor Bobby Krtausch officiating.
Graveside services will follow at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J. R. Crawford, Fred Bernard, Joey Morelock, Rex Bernard, Ed Morelock, and Sam Horne.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the fifth floor at Holston Valley for their care and support.
