Haskiel "Hack" Crawford, 78, of Kingsport, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Washington County, he had resided in Kingsport the last 15 years. Hack was a retired truck driver. He was Pentecostal.
The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Gray and Wellmont Hospice for their care and support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurley and Martha Ann Crawford; brother, Newell Crawford; great-granddaughter, Renna Borders, and the mother of his children, Billie Jo Crawford.
Hack is survived by his daughter, Shelby Ferguson and husband Allen of Chuckey; three sons, Larry Crawford and wife Debbie of Bowling Green, OH, Wayne Crawford and wife Teresa of Kingsport, and Eddie Crawford and wife Marilyn of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren; special grandson, Bobby Wayne Crawford and wife Kim and their daughter Madison; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Board of Roanoke, VA, Dove Nelson of Limestone, Mary Harrel of Winton-Salem, NC, and Janice Cox of Fall Branch; four brothers, Herman Crawford of Bulls Gap, Don Crawford of Cleveland, OH, Thurley Crawford, Jr. of Roanoke, VA, and Jerry Crawford of Gray; several nieces and nephews, and special nephew, Tommy Crawford.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Roy Brickey and Rev. Glenn McCracken officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Limestone. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Denny Ford.
