Hazel Jeter Pyle

Hazel Jeter Pyle, 88, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013.
She was the daughter of Joseph R. and Elizabeth Runion Jeter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, J.C. Pyle, Jr.; her brothers, Clyde and Junior, sisters, Edith Miller and Coralee Blankenbeckler, and brother-in-law, Steve Zinke.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Dickie and wife, Wilma of Church Hill, and Mack and wife, Julie of Kingsport; grandchildren, Jeff Pyle, Patti Pyle, Jason Pyle, Jenni Broyles, Cody Pyle, Chris Gibbs; nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Zinke; several nieces and nephews.

Hazel knew the Lord Jesus as her personal savior. She loved people and her friends, enjoyed making flower arrangements, cooking and being a wonderful homemaker in her earlier years. Hazel worked several years at S&H Green Stamp Store. She was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church and attended faithfully before her health began to fail. She enjoyed living at Preston Place and all the staff that helped her each day.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jared Wood and Rev. Homer Roller officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Blakely, Greg Myers, Leon Newland, Jeff Pyle, Patti Pyle, Charles Anderson, Jenni Broyles, and Jason Pyle.

Memorials may be made to Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660, or to Terrific Tuesday, in care of Community United Methodist Church, 510 Gibson Mill Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Preston Place Suites staff for the wonderful care, love and concern for Hazel these past two and a half years.
