Hazel Lee Rasnake, 94, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 27, 2013.
She was born in Russell County, VA, and had resided in Kingsport since 1935. Hazel retired from J. P. Stevens in 1980 after 34 years of service. She was a Baptist.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Causby Rasnake; daughter, Ann Barnes; grandson, Randy Barnes; four sisters, Myrtle Rasnake, Ellen Tittle, Easter Smith, and Agnes Pierce; two brothers, Braidy Rasnake and Donald Rasnake.
She is survived by son-in-law, Jim Barnes, Kingsport; granddaughters, Debbie Fugate, Kingsport, Angela Garber and husband, Kevin, Kingsport, and Becky Repass and husband, Carl, Mt. Carmel; six great-grandchildren, Heather Jones, James Jones, Tiffany Fugate, Randy Garber, Jessica Garber, and Kayla Barnes; four sisters, Eura Gibson, Jonesborough, Betty Thacker, St. Louis, MO, Janie Barnett, Mt. Carmel, and Vivian Cox, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Gibson officiating.
The graveside service will be on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
