Hazel Williams Tarte

Hazel Williams Tarte, 85, of Kingsport went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, February 2, 2009.

She was born and raised in Blackwater, Virgina; and later moved to Kingsport where she spent the remainder of her life.

Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by those who loved her.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred Lafon Tarte; her parents, James and Bessie Williams; a son, James L. Tarte; and a son-in-law, David Potts.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Trent of Kingsport, Patty Potts of Kingsport; one son, David Tarte of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Jenny Russo of Elizabethton, Leora Kipimo and husband Bawilly of Kingsport, Marlena Ossovicki of Kingsport, Amber Potts of Kingsport, Jimmy Russo and wife Susan of Mt. Carmel, and Michael Trent of Johnson City; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla, Frazia, Hannah, Joseph, Alex, Eseka, Jeremy, Avery, and Matt; a special cousin, Geraldine Bishop; a special friend, Brenda Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
