Hazel Carroll Watkins, 95, Kingsport, TN passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
Born in Rock Springs, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She retired from Sears in 1981 and then worked later at Why Not?. She was an avid golfer and a member of Meadowview Golf Club and charter member of the Crossings Golf Course. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening.
Mrs. Watkins was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Wilbur Watkins, son, Alan "Snooky" Watkins, Sr., parents, A. L. "Fate" Carroll and Mary Belle Shipley Carroll, three sisters, and six brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Winegar and husband Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Sue Watkins; three granddaughters, Michelle Martindale and husband Rob; Melissa Bush and husband Barry; and Kristin Tester and husband Gary; grandson, Alan Watkins, Jr.; six great grandchildren: Kyle, Blake, Emma, Trent, Bethany, and Brionah.
Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Rob Martindale, Lawrence Winegar, Barry Bush, Kyle Bush, Blake Bush, Alan Watkins, and Gary Tester.
