Helen Derting Weatherly

Helen Derting Weatherly, 93, Kingsport, passed away on Monday evening, January 8, 2018, at Asbury Place following a long battle with Parkinsons. Helen was born in Norton, VA and grew up in Hiltons, VA until moving to Kingsport. Upon Joe's retirement, they returned to the family farm in Hiltons. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Curtis Weatherly, and parents, Corbett and Dana Derting.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Beth Jones and husband, Bob, and granddaughter, Kate Jones.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Asbury Place for their compassionate care of Helen.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm with The Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating.
