Helen Graham Nelms Elliott, 85, Kingsport, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2007, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Born in Hawkins County, Tennessee, she had lived in Kingsport since the age of 6.
Mrs. Elliott was employed with Tennessee Eastman Company in the A.Y. Division for 34 years retiring in 1978. She was a Baptist.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert A. Elliott; her father and mother, Joe and Minnie Rowland Nelms; her brothers, Ralph, Fred, and Walter ?Pete? Nelms; a half-brother, Herman Nelms; a sister, Alpha Byington; a half sister, Georgia Steadman; and by several nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her sister, Sarah Maude Nelms Hash, Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Edith Nelms, Owensboro, Kentucky, and Helen Nelms, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home of the sister at 1813 Clouds Ford Road, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stout and Rev. Paul Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hash, David Byington, David Nelms, Wayne Nelms, Johnny Nelms, Jason Hash, Wade Ketron, Sherrill Phillips, and Terry Christian.
