Helen F. Morelock

Helen F. Morelock, 76, Rogersville, was called home early Thursday morning, March 24, 2016, at her home. Helen was born in Scott County, VA. She had resided in Kingsport, Mt. Carmel and Rogersville for most of her life. Helen was an employee of Indian Path Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of Beech Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Helen loved her kids, grandchildren and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Morelock in 2015; daughter, Joyce Shelton; 2 brothers, Burl Hinson and Doug Hinson; and 3 sisters, Phyllis Hagan, Lena Smith and Sylvia Hinson.

Helen is survived by her children, Kimithea Smith and husband, Lanny, Shawna Morelock and Lester, Todd Morelock and wife, Rachael, all of Rogersville, and Stan Morelock and wife, Teresa of Moline, IL; grandchildren, Amy Hunter, Christy Shelton, Tiffany Masengarb, Melissa Shelton, Kara Shelton, Toby and Lance Morelock, Jamie Light, Dustin Light, Jeremy Light, Kaleb, Carter, Eli and Grant Morelock; great-grandchildren, Preston Morelock, Charles Lang, Wesley Pigéon, Alex and Siera, Keegan, Jacob and Nate Light, Jacob, Samantha and Heather Hunter, Isaac and Seamus Boyle, Lyla Swanson, Zachary Shelton and Austin Deshazier; great-great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hunter and Brynley Brower; 4 sisters, Minnie Davis and husband, Jess, Carol Crawford and husband, Gary, Judy Jackson, and Kathy Hutchins Hinson, all of Church Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thanks to her caregivers, CD and Margaret Andrews, Tom Lawson and Amedysis Home and Health of Morristown.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Chip McClain officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
