Helen D. Fisher, 70, passed Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Greystone Health Care Center in Blountville.
She was born June 1, 1937, in Norton, Virginia, and spent most of her adult life in the Blountville area.
Helen was a devoted wife and a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of Adams Chapel United Methodist Church and the Sullivan County Home Demonstration Club. She loved her flowers, gardening, doing crafts, home décor, and designing her own clothes. Helen also loved her pets and singing in the church choir.
Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Dudley B. and Geneva Scott Williams, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Fisher, Kingsport; a daughter, Terry L. Griffin and husband James of Blountville, TN; a son, Bruce Fisher and wife Meredith of Johnson City, TN; one grandson, Kevin Griffin; one granddaughter, Sara Faith Fisher; four step-grandchildren, Scott Griffin, Denise Wrye, and Jared and Arielle Little; one sister, Anita Sturgill and husband Arthur of Norton, VA; an uncle, Milford Williams and wife Loretta of Wise, Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, step-great-grandchildren, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Indian Path and Johnson City Medical Centers and the wonderful caregivers at Greystone Health Care Center and Adventa Hospice services. God bless you all.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Billy L. Byrd and Rev. Millard J. Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Gunnings Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Griffin, Scott Griffin, Dwight Hunigan, Tony Marion, Mack Moore, and Gary Wineger.
