Helen Jones

Helen Louise Jones, 96, of Rock Springs Rd., Kingsport, died Sunday, December 17, 2017. Louise was born in Keokee, VA, where she lived until coming to Kingsport in 1946. She was a graduate of Calvin High School. She taught school at West View Elementary and Sullivan Elementary. She later was a substitute teacher at various elementary schools in the Sullivan County School System. Louise was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Her last three years, while living with her daughter, she attended Bible Baptist Church when able. Louise loved gardening and flowers, and reading her favorite books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. Riddle and Maude Alice Mullins Riddle; her first husband, Vibert Carter, who died in 1952; and her husband of 50 years, Jack L. Jones; brothers, Charles Riddle and wife Jean, Carl Riddle; grandson, Nikki Carter; and great-grandson, James Dishner.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Teresa McCann and husband, Mike; sons, Bert Carter and wife Linda, David Carter and wife Amy, Judge Steven Jones and wife Ginny, and Scott Jones, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Tracy Dishner and husband Phillip, Stacy Carter and wife Ginger, Brad Jones and wife Melissa, Carrie Conkin and husband John, Jason Jones and wife Brittany, Heather Easterling and husband Jason, Wesley Jones and wife Wesley, Brandon Jones, Jacob McCann and wife Andrea, Josh McCann and wife Megan, Kylee Jones, Jamin McCann and wife Heather, Lynly Jones, Charlie McCann, and Grace Carter; great-grandchildren, Blakley Dishner, Presley Dishner, Elias Carter, Kaiden Easterling, Lukas Easterling, Benjamin Jones, Ava Carter, Nash Dishner, Molly Easterling, Caroline Conkin, Carson McCann, Dawson Jones, Austen Louise Jones, Charlotte McCann, Madison, Ella, Amelia and soon, Emma Grace Jones.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Bible Baptist Church. Celebration of Life Services will follow with Dr. Don McCann officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stacy Carter, Brad Jones, Jason Jones, Wesley Jones, Jacob McCann, Josh McCann, Jamin McCann, Charlie McCann, Jason Easterling, Phillip Dishner, John Conkin, and Brandon Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Chapman, Tommy Riddle, Charlie Leonard, Ted Hughes, Tom Taylor, Amos Barbour, Bob Blakley, and Mike Cline.
