She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious home-made desserts, jams and jellies, and for the fresh vegetables that she and Lucky raised and shared from their garden. She was a life-long birdwatcher and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially during Fall, her favorite season.

Helen was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church for over fifty years. She considered Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church to be her church home after she and Lucky moved to Springfield, Tennessee, in 2004.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Francis L. "Lucky" Jordan.
