Helen Elizabeth Long, 84, of Kingsport passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Glade Springs, VA, on February 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur G. and Rauzzie W. Cooper Olterman, she moved to Kingsport as a child.
Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Estelene Olterman and Hilda Kabool; brothers, Bill, Howard, Bobby, James (Shine), Harold, and Paul Olterman.
Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Louis A. Long, Jr.; sister, Ann McGee; sister-in-law, Francis Olterman; daughters, Vicky Leming and husband Chuck, Debra "Cookie" Long, and Pam Fuller and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Andrew Chambliss, Hunter Leming and wife, Kalla, Amanda Venuti and husband Allen, Amy Williams Stanley and husband Tommy, and Faye Fuller; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her precious eleven year old peekapoo, Lucy.
A private family graveside service was held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Stout officiated.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim McKinney, Nick McKinney, Joe Taylor, Tommy Olterman, and Hunter Leming.
