Helen Christeena Begley Shupe, 80, of Kingsport, born December 16, 1929, in Scott County, VA, near High Knob Mountain, went to be in the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who always focused on family.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Grover Begley; infant children, James and Marsha; 15 brothers and sisters, Horton, Lonnie, Charlie, Jack, Tucker, Audley, and Corna Begley; Claudia Carver, Bessie Tomlinson, Lizzie Fields, Neelie Barker, Myrtle Baldwin, Lillie Peak, Mary Vaughn and Ruby Ellen Begley; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include daughter Myrtle Barnett, Kingsport; sons and daughters-in-law Dannie, Phillip and wife Roseanna, Dwight David and wife Melissa, Lawrence, Randall and wife Connie, and Ricky, all of Kingsport; grandsons, Randall Duncan, Chris Shupe, Tim Barnett, Chad Barnett, and Scott Shupe; granddaughters, Jennifer Crawford, Stephanie Harbin, Megan Duncan, Jessica Shupe, Amber Whiten, Kimberly Shupe, and Katherine Shupe; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Kaylee, Brayden, Brianna, Abigail, Conner, Hailee, Desirea, Kaleb, Camden, Kassie, Chloe, and Kimora; sister, Hazel Hillman of Stony Creek, VA; brothers, Jessie Begley of Gray, TN, and Hubert Begley of Gray, TN; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. John Hackney officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Walling Cemetery in Mabe, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
