Helen Liddle Skaggs is at rest after a long battle with an incurable lung disease. Helen died early on Monday, April 2, 2012, with her loving, devoted husband and caregiver, Johnny by her side. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Skaggs retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Holston Valley Hospital, and was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church.
Helen was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Penny Lynn. Also, predeceasing her were her father, Virgil Lymon Liddle, mother, Georgia King Liddle, as well as her brothers, Raymond, Ralph, Don, infant brother, Virgil Lymon Liddle, Jr., and sister, Margaret Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Johnny Skaggs of Kingsport; daughter, Martha Jo Skaggs of Richmond, VA; sisters, Pearl Gibson and husband, Leonard, Theo Liddle Ketron, widow of Paul Ketron; and brother, Larry Gene Liddle and wife, Paula, all of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4th, from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 5th at 2:00 pm at the Hamlett-Dobson Chapel with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at East Lawn Memorial Park.
