Henry Lee Maples, 56, of Blountville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 13, 2009.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and collecting Hot Wheels and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member and served as a Deacon for many years at Hickman s Memorial Baptist Church.
Henry was preceded in death by his father Samuel Earnest Maples and father-in-law Rev. Carson D. Shaffer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Brenda S. Maples of Blountville, his daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Billy Maltbie, 2 grandsons Ashton and Chase Maltbie, his mother Evelyn Mary Maples, mother-in-law Lizzie Jane Shaffer, 1 brother Earnest L. Maples and wife Evelyn, 2 sisters Hazel Blackburn and Cora Roark and husband Robert, previous brother-in-law Billy Peters, 4 brothers-in-law Bobby Shaffer and wife Doris, Dewey Shaffer and wife Brenda, Randy Shaffer and wife Sherry, Terry Shaffer and wife Christine, 2 sisters-in-law Imogene Simms and husband Buddy, Jeanette Sawyer and Husband Fred, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family will receive friends Saturday, April 18th from 3-5 pm at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home of Kingsport.
