Herman Bill Carroll
Herman Bill Carroll, 71, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Sullivan County where he had been a resident his entire life. Bill retired after 40 years of service as a brick mason. He attended Maple Oaks Gospel Mission.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Jane Wagner; and his mother, Lula Johnson.
Surviving are one son, Frankie Carroll of Kingsport; two granddaughters, Jessica and Sydney Carroll; and a nephew, Alan Arnold of Mt. Carmel.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. J. C. "Jake" Riner and Evangelist Charley Jarrett Jr. officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gary Grizzle, Danny Gilliam, Edmond McCracken, George Morelock, Ed Wright, Gaines Hensley, and Kilton Lane.
