Herman Guy Crawford

Herman Guy Crawford, 73, of Kingsport, was born December 23, 1936, in Sullivan County and passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at his home following a brief illness. He was a former employee of Bays Mountain Construction and was later employed by Tennessee Eastman Chemical until his retirement in 1987. Herman enjoyed gardening and working on and collecting old cars. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Herman was preceded in death by his father and mother, Victor and Lola Crawford; an infant brother, G.W. Crawford; and brothers, D.L. Delbert Crawford and James Howard Crawford.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pauline Sellers Crawford; daughter, Brenda Crawford; son, Ronnie Crawford; granddaughter, Taylor Crawford; sisters, Lois Sherfey and husband Orgie and Dessie Saylor; sister-in-law, Alma Crawford; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch, or anytime at the home of Herman's daughter. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Rev. Orville Dolen will serve as honorary pastor.

Burial will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Chase, Steve Head, James Arnold, Orgie Sherfey, Jerry Crawford, and Leonard Crawford. Paul Sellers, Jack Sellers, and Garland Sellers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
