Hilda Pippin Morley

Hilda Pippin Morley, 99, of Kingsport, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at The Laurels in Norton, VA.

Born in Wise County, VA she had moved to Kingsport in 1954 from Roda, VA. She was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was also a life member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Morley was retired from Miller's Department Store. She was a 75 year member of the Liberty Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star and was past matron of the Appalachia, VA Chapter #26.

Hilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Beldon L. Morley; one brother, Gilmer L. Pippin; one sister, Trula Pippin Compton; and one niece, Omega Woolford.

Survivors include one sister, Alma Pippin Hall of Columbus, OH; two nephews, Bobby R. Pippin and wife, Nelda of Big Stone Gap, VA, David McCoy and wife, Susan of Columbus, OH; two nieces, Patricia McPeek and husband, Fred of Columbus, OH, Dorla Cantrell and husband, Don Jack of KY; special friend, June Shelton of Kingsport, TN; special cousin, Jeanette Dean of Bristol, VA and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 7 pm with Rev. Kim Goddard officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Liberty Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star members and members of Mafair United Methodist Church.
