Hobart Riddle

Hobart S. Riddle, 99, of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, April 30, 2008.

He was born in Lee County, Virginia, and served with the Signal Corp of the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Riddle had been a resident of Kingsport since 1929. He was a member of the American Legion, a member of Lodge #688 F&AM, and a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsport. Mr. Riddle was employed with the U. S. Post Office for more than 30 years.

His wife, Clarice Pendleton Riddle, preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Nealy and husband David of Asheville, NC, Mary Williams and husband David of Kingsport; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen Salyer of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, followed by a Masonic service by Lodge #688.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating. Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No. 3/265.
