Hollis Ray Irvin, 77, of Kingsport, passed away March 3, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident the Fordtown Community.
Hollis graduated from Holston High School, retired from Grief Brothers Cooperation, was a member of Fordtown Baptist and was a lifelong horse enthusiast and avid baseball fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cloy and Minnie Irvin; brother Harold Irvin; sister Tennessee Peters; and sons, Tony Irvin and Thomas Triplett.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Shelby Irvin of Kingsport; sons, Brian Irvin and wife Kristin of Fall Branch, Kent Triplett and wife Shelly of Hudson, NC; daughter Pam Martinoli and husband Marco of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Jamie Triplett, Kristopher Triplett, Brandon Triplett, Sidney Triplett, Amanda Irvin, Caleb Cobb, Brittany Cobb, Lorenzo Martinoli and Amanda Martinoli; sister Alta Tester of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch Chapel.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Fordtown Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Strong and Pastor Bryan Moore officiating.
