Homer Tommy Gragg

H. Tommy Gragg, 84, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was born in Sullivan County where he had lived for most of his life. Tommy retired from Holston Valley Medical Center after 22 years of service. He then worked part time for Mac’s Medicine. Tommy was a charter member of Victory Life Center where he helped build. He was an avid Yankee baseball fan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Gragg; wife, Della Mae Hickman Gragg (2011); daughter, Martha Ellen; and three brothers, J.D., Jim, and Orville.

Tommy is survived by his daughters, Karen Weaver and husband Jr., Penny Farmer and husband Gary, Loretta Light and husband Charlie, and Lisa Puckett and husband Bill; sons, Charles Gragg and wife Kathy, and Birt Gragg and girlfriend Linda; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lois Greer and Mary Taylor.

Special thanks to Cody and Jan Weaver for the many years of help and care, and also to Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Victory Life Center. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Mack Greer officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Coleman, Tim Skeens, and Fox.
