Homer Dale Rector

Mr. Homer Dale Rector, 79, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Although he was born in Greene County, TN he resided in Kingsport most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Mead Corporation after many years. Dale was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.H. Rector and Neva Hensley Hartman.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Kilday Rector, of the home; daughter, Teresa "Teri" Jarrell and husband, Bert of Kingsport; son, Rickey Rector and wife, Emily of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Jeremy Jarrell and wife, Sarah, Lindsey Ingle and husband, Jon, Jason Elliot, and Jesse Rector and wife, Brittany; and six great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating.
