Houston Burke

Houston Burke, 39, of Kingsport, a precious gift from God, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2015. He graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 1992. Houston was a U.S. Vet and former Deputy Sheriff for Sullivan County, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Burke; daughter, Katie Burke; step-daughter, Emily Leeseberg; parents, Kent L. Burke and Patty Burke; sister, Beverly Wadell and husband, Rob; nephews, Tyler Finocchio and Jackson Slater; father and mother-in-law, Errol and Carol Ann Pheffer; and several aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Evangelist Pat Hammond and Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Graveside services will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Pheffer, Errol Pheffer, Jr., Tyler Finocchio, Jackson Slater, Allen Castle, and Mike Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Gale Osborne and Errol Pheffer, Sr.
