Howard Carter, Kingsport, died Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2007 of an apparent heart attack.
His father, Claude W. Carter, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his mother, Margaret Carter; sister, Gloria Clevenger and husband Elmo, all of Kingsport; and nephew Jason Clevenger and wife Charmaine of Boston, Massachusetts.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Richard D. Willis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hiltons Cemetery in Hiltons, VA. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
