Hubert Bledsoe, 83, Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 6, 2008.
He was born and raised in Duffield, VA and resided in Ontario, Oregon for many years before returning to the East Tennessee area.
Mr. Bledsoe served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during World War II in the Battle of Bastogne. He retired from Azari Packing Company in Ontario, OR after 25 plus years of service where he had many friends.
His son, Hubert Bledsoe, Jr.; brother, Robert Bledsoe, and parents, Beulah and Baxter Bledsoe preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughter, Gina Johnson of Arizona; sons, Eddie Bledsoe and wife Helen, Blountville, TN; and Randy Bledsoe of Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Bishop and husband Ron, Burke, VA.
Calling hours are 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be 12 noon Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
