Hubert C. Hunt
Hubert C. Hunt, 68, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Hubert was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and had graduated from Sullivan High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had retired from Eastman Chemical Company. Hubert was a member of Colonial Heights Christian Church where he served as a deacon, served on several church councils and had also worked as a volunteer in the food pantry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing sports. Hubert had coached Little League sports in Sullivan County for many years. He loved his Lord, his family and spending time with friends.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Laura Hunt; two brothers Howard Hunt and Wayne Hunt.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ethel Mae Hunt of Kingsport; daughter Karen Guy and husband, Brian of Kingsport; son Jason Hunt and wife, Virginia of Gray; five grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Baily, Hagan and Terry; four sisters, Helen Bachman of Kingsport, Wanda Crawford of Kingsport, Libby McNew and husband, Curtis of Kingsport, Gail Daugherty and husband, Charles of Weber City, VA; seven brothers, Harold Hunt and wife, Nancy of Kingsport, Herman Hunt and wife, Liz of Kingsport, Hal Hunt and wife, Sherry of Mooresburg, TN, Ray Hunt of Kingsport, Steve Hunt and wife, Delores of Kingsport, Stanley Hunt of Kingsport, Mark Hunt of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Friday, May 13, 2011 at Colonial Heights Christian Church. The service will begin at 7 pm with Mike Smith, minister and Wes McElravy, minister officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Harold Hunt, Herman Hunt, Steve Hunt, Ray Hunt, Stanley Hunt, Mark Hunt and Hal Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Christian Church, 105 Meadow Lane, Kingsport TN 37663 c/o the Building Fund or the Food Pantry.
