Hubert H.L. Riggs

H.L. Riggs, 82, Sullivan Gardens, died at his home Thursday, January 5th, 2012. H.L. was born in the Mill Creek area and had lived the majority of his life in the Sullivan Gardens area. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and a partner in the Riggs Brothers Construction Company. H.L. was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Annie Riggs, and two brothers, Paul and Jack Riggs.

H.L. is survived by two sons, David Riggs and wife, Kathy, and Dwight Riggs all of Kingsport; daughter, Vicki Foster of Woodstock, GA; eight grandchildren, Destini Riggs, Sarah Riggs, Jessica Livesay and husband Brad, Stephanie Riggs, Lindsey Foster, Seth Riggs and wife, Sarah, Ethan Riggs, and Alan Riggs and wife, Lindsey; four great grandchildren, Peyton, McKinleah, Rory, and Delaney; and sister, Elizabeth Steadman of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7th from 4-6:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 with Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, January 8th at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
