Hunter "Tilly" Holbert

Hunter "Tilly" Holbert, 42, Kingsport, died at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center at 4:18 pm, Monday, September 11, 2017, after an extended illness. Hunter was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He was a basketball and baseball player in high school. Hunter was an avid sports fan and loved to spend time with his niece, Mackenzie, and nephew, Ethan Holbert.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Niles G. and Molee Smith, and paternal grandparents, Buford and Pearl Holbert.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Tom and Patty Holbert of Kingsport; brother, Drew Holbert and wife Julie, Charleston, SC; niece, Mackenzie; nephew, Ethan; fiancée, Debbie Begley of Kingsport; and special relatives in Calhoun, Georgia.

Thanks for the excellent care of the Wound Care Department of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, and a special thanks to the many friends who provided their love and support during Hunter's illness.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The memorial service will follow at 8:00 pm with The Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Buckles, Chad Hudson, Bo Corum, Chris Fain, Ryan Elliott, Alan Rau and Mike Darnell.
