Ida Dunn, 86, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday August 8, 2009 at Brookhaven Manor.
Born in Greene County, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport. Ida was a member of Feathers Chapel Church in Blountville. She had worked at North Electric Company in Gray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Dunn; and two sons, Teddy Dunn and Tom Dunn.
Surviving are five daughters, Joan Fleenor and husband, Leroy, of Blountville, Ann Adams and husband, Max, of Kingsport, Janice Dunn of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mary Goforth and husband, Jack, of Kingsport, and Donna Eldridge of Concord, NC; two sons, Richard Dunn and wife, Mary, of Gautier, MS, and John Dunn of Kingsport; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Janis Dunn of Kingsport and Lois Dunn of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Leroy Fleenor officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Grandsons and great-grandsons are honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Brookhaven Manor for their excellent care and the kindness that was shown to their mother for over 20 years.
