Ida Jo Livesay

Jo Livesay of Kingsport entered the Gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Kingsport and a lifelong resident. Jo was co-owner and operator of Daton's Grill. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family, reading her Bible, and also working in her flower gardens. She had a gentle, loving spirit and touched many lives while she was here. She will be greatly missed.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Daton H. Livesay; mother, Edna Cooper; father, Cecil Cooper; sisters, Betty Sue Cooper and Jeanette Cooper; and brother, William (Bill) Cooper.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Farthing and husband, Gail, Kingsport, and Tina Wilcox and husband, Terry, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Michael Farthing, Tia Wilcox, and Ty Wilcox; two step-grandchildren, Rob Farthing and Lori Farthing; three great-grandchildren, Taleb, Luke, and Madison; sister, Mary Rose Stapleton, Kingsport; brother, Cecil (Junior) Cooper, Jr. and wife, Patsy, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport, with Rev. Mitchell M. Whisnant officiating.

The burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Stapleton, Alvin Cross, Danny Livesay, David Livesay, Jeremy Livesay, and Dennis Livesay. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ty Wilcox.
