Ila White Hall, 311 Bank Drive, Fall Branch, Tennessee, departed this life for her eternal home on Monday, November 30, 2009. She had been a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church in Greene County since she was twelve years of age. She loved her church and her Saviour. Ila was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Hopper Hall; father and mother, Onnie and Georgia White of Greene County; infant brother and sister, Jessie and Frelia White, Greene County; brother Ira White of Fall Branch; brother and sister-in-law Eldon and Rose White of Jonesborough; brother Harley Junior White of Chuckey; step-mother Nova White, Clearwater, Florida; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gail and Tullie Hall, Fall Branch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Carmel and Freddie Lady, Fall Branch; nephew Chris White, Greene County; nephew Alan Lady, Fall Branch; three aunts, two uncles, and many dear cousins and friends.
She is survived by her dear and devoted son, Gary Hall, and wife Kay, Fall Branch; grand-daughter Kim Hall Hodge and husband Mark, Gray, TN; great-grandson Tanner Hodge and great-granddaughter Clerra Hodge, Gray, TN; brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Jean White, Fall Branch; nieces Deborah Reed, Angie Arnold, Judy Hood, and Carol Ryan and their families; nephews Vance White, Scott White, Jeff White, and Zane Lady and their families, and many dear cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamlet-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch, and anytime at the home of her son, Gary Hall, 148 Carolyn Avenue, Fall Branch.
Services will be conducted following visitation at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Vic Wallace and Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating. Bill Reed will give the eulogy. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Bledson, Time White, Bobbie Shipley, Johnnie Armstrong, E. B. Moore, Lynn Haren, Frank Brandon, John Hankins, Freddie Pierce, Byrd Deatherage, Charles White, Marvin Odum, Carmen White, Don White, Terry Dawson, Junior Dawson, and Rex Jaynes.
The family wants to offer a note of thanks and appreciation to special caregivers Norma Porter, Grace McCrary, and Imogene Barrett, and also the staff and nurses at Baysmont Rehabilitation Center, Kingsport, Tennessee.
