Ila Maurine Jeno Vanover

Ila Maurine Jeno Vanover, 93, of Kingsport, passed away with her husband by her side after an extended illness on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Brookdale Assisted Living. Maurine was born in Roda, Virginia, to the late William R. Jeno, Sr. and Della Sproles Jeno. She graduated from Appalachia High School and retired from Tennessee Eastman after thirty years of service. Maurine was a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Maurine was preceded in death by two sisters, Nevajean Pearson and Sally Greene; and brothers, William Jeno, Jr. and Rondall Jeno.

Maurine is survived by her husband, Rufus Vanover; sister, Marguerite Davidson and husband, Jack; step-children, Denny Vanover and wife Rhonda, Jane Tate and husband Tim, and Zane Vanover and wife Kay; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating.

Entombment services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living at Rock Springs, Stacie Robinson and other Amedysis Hospice caregivers, Tammy Payne, and Pastor Phil Whittemore for their care and support.
