Ileene Chase, 86, of Greenshed Community, passed away Monday morning, February 19, 2007, at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Greene County where she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Chase attended Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved playing the piano and singing and was also an avid bird watcher. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jay Chase; a son, Clark Chase; and four brothers, Beryl Evans, Roy Evans, Kay Evans, and Ray Evans.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Ellenburg and husband, Jim, Chuckey, TN, and Mitzi Parsons, Jonesborough; two sons, Ted Chase and Tim Chase, both of Chuckey; six grandchildren, Darren Ellenburg and wife Marquita, Kim Thompson and husband Mike, Mark Brockenhuizen and wife Dorothy, Kristen Vicars, Garrett Vicars, and Jordan Chase; three great-grandchildren, Chase Ellenburg, Scott Brockenhuizen, and Jane Brockenhuizen; one sister, Faye Hayes, Chuckey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Junnett, Nancy Pace, and Charles Parsons.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Rocky Johnson, Rev. Ronnie Baxter, and Rev. Johnny Shipley officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
