Ileeta Joann Hackler Byrd

Ileeta JoAnn Hackler Byrd, 85, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 19, 2024, with her children by her side. JoAnn was born in Elk Creek, VA, on June 19, 1939, to parents, Fred and Eliza Hackler. She moved to Kingsport as a young child and was a lifelong resident of Orebank. JoAnn was a dedicated member of Orebank Central Baptist for over 20 years. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Holston Rehab, formerly Holston Manor for many years. She then worked in transport at Holston Valley until her retirement. JoAnn was creative and crafty, she enjoyed making jewelry, sewing primitive dolls, and working in her yard and garden. JoAnn was a devoted Christian, and she loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends, and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Brown Hackler and Eliza Kate Bennington Hackler; husband, Elbert Eugene “Gene” Byrd; and father of her three children, Fred Clint Goins

JoAnn is survived by her children, Jeff Goins (Mary), Robin Goins Francisco (Greg) and Kevin Goins (Christina); grandchildren, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Matthew Goins (Bridget), Ethan Goins, Austin Brown (Olivia), Alisha Dickie (Micah), Alexandra Smith (Cameron), Rex Humphrey, Jr. (Cassandra), Christina Petty (Reed), Kody Goins (Kaley), Ashlyn Goins, Dylan Goins (Grace), Jillan Earhart (Joseph) and Talmage Francisco; great-grandchildren, Weston, Colton and Ryleigh Goins, Benton and Cynthia Brown, Izaak Goins, Ensley and Everly Earhart; sisters, Garnita Imogene Shelton, Freda Mae Rose Goad; and several nieces and nephews; and many friends of the Orebank community.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Orebank Central Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow a 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Risner officiating.

Burial will follow at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, Blountville.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Goins, Jeff Goins, Austin Brown, Kody Goins, Dylan Goins, and Ethan Goins. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Francisco.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orebank Central Baptist in honor of JoAnn, 5776 Orebank Rd, Kingsport, TN 37664.
