Ina Geneva Kerns

Ina G. Kerns, 90, of Kingsport, passed away early Monday morning on December 14, 2015 after a period of declining health. A native of Scott County, VA, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She was a faithful member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School class and all of her dear church friends. She was a devoted wife, Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always thinking of others before herself. Ina thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and her specialty was chocolate pies. She loved working in her garden and planting flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charlie Kerns, Jr. in 1995; her parents, Ray and Bessie Bellamy; 3 brothers, Homer, Roy and C.T.; and 2 sisters, Tally McClellan and Alice Compton.

Ina is survived by her loving sons, Joie and wife, Gail, Tommy and wife, Kathryn of Kingsport, and John and wife, Donna of Trussville, AL; a devoted brother, Ron Bellamy and wife, Brenda of Gate City, VA; two sisters, Velma Vicars and husband, Ernie and Nancy McElroy of Weber City, VA; sister-in-law, Jean Broadwater of Gate City, VA; six grandchildren, Andrew, Heather, Joie Todd, Dustin, Bryan and Brad; and nine great-grandchildren, Joseph, Anna, Jacob, Alex, Charley, Simon, Emory, Laurel, and Boone.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 12-2:00pm, at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, 1421 Old Gibson Mill Road, Kingsport, with services to follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Doctor Jim Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Kerns, Kevin Webster, Joie Todd Kerns, Dustin Kerns, Bryan Kerns and Brad Kerns.
