Hurt, Ina Faye Dingus, age 73 of Knoxville, formerly of Fall Branch, TN, passed away at home on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Ina was well known for her wonderful kindness and deep respect for others.
She was a member of the Living Church of God. Ina was truly blessed with her family and supportive church family. Ina retired from the Veterans Hospital in Johnson City, TN, as a Certified Respiratory Therapist. She had many hobbies including drawing, watercolor painting, and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Samuel W. Hurt, Jr. and parents Willie Melvin and Kate Compton Dingus.
Ina is survived by her five children: Gina Hill, Gail McDaniel, Pam Huggins and husband Jeff, all of Knoxville; Greg and wife Mary Hurt of Kingsport, TN and Tim Hurt of Johnson City, TN. Ina is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Douglas and wife Ruby Dingus of Rogersville, TN, Ronald and wife Pat Dingus of Kingsport, TN, Joyce and husband Clinton Tate of Tucker, GA, and Cheryl and husband Bobby Smith of Travelers Rest, SC. She is also survived by grandson Jason and wife Erin McDaniel of Missoula, MT, many nieces and nephews, and Gus and Maggie.
A celebration of Ina?s life will be held, 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch with receiving of friends from 2:00 to 3:00 at the funeral home.
