Inez Parker Irvin, 89, of Kingsport, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Holston Manor after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, VA, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. Inez was a 1943 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years in the Kingsport area.
Inez was a member of First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace E. Irvin; son, Rod Irvin; sister, Erma Good; and brother, Merle Parker.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Irvin of Knoxville; son, Randy Irvin and wife Tracy of Bristol, TN; daughter-in-law, Ann Irvin, Kingsport, TN; four grandchildren, Holly Flora and husband Nathan of Kingsport, Emily Helphinstine and husband Paul of Kingsport, Wally Irvin and wife Stephanie of Mt. Juliet, and Andy Irvin and wife Janice of Kingsport; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Parker, Mavis Moore, Anita Ferrell, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Christian Church. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Paul Helphinstine and Rev. Nathan Flora officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 106 East Charlemont Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37660.
