Inez "Nannie" Carter Nelson, 85, of Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord January 1, 2011.
Born in Hancock Co, TN, she has lived in Kingsport most of her life.
Nannie asked Jesus into her heart at age 13. She was a member of Barton's Chapel Central Baptist Church and also attends Homeland Baptist Church. What she enjoyed most was going to church and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Paul Nelson, five sisters and three brothers; father and mother, Rev. A.J. and Laverna Carter.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Rev. Will Vernita "Cookie" Wyatt, Mrs. Grady Leota "Lee" Vaughn; one son, Rev. Tim Nelson and wife Kathy, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren: Anthony Wyatt and wife Aimee, Misty Dunne and husband Simon, Shannon Vaughn and wife Misty and Kevin Nelson; two great grandchildren, Amber Wyatt and Piper Vaughn; one brother, Rev. Willard Carter: several nieces and nephews.
