Ira Lynn Overbay

Ira Lynn Overbay, 62, of Fall Branch passed away Friday, July 5, 2013. Ira was born in Rogersville, TN, July 19, 1950.

Ira worked at Parkway Buick for 11 years as a body man. He then went to work at Eastman Chemical Company for 30 years. He truly enjoyed shooting IDPA and the people he met. Ira was a loving husband and friend to Libby for 34 years. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lonnie Overbay (Jan. 9, 1994) and Betty Jane Gladson Overbay (Feb. 5, 1998).

Ira is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Libby) Overbay, Fall Branch, TN; daughter, Melissa Gail Key, Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Sarah and Cameron; daughter, Tracey Ann Dean Potts and husband, Darrell Wayne Potts, Whitehouse, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy and Hannah; son, Gregory Allen Dean, Weeki Wachee, FL; grandchildren, Lauren and Emily; brothers, Garland Westley Overbay and wife, Linda (Rose Bud), Fall Branch, and Casey L. Overbay and wife Sherry, Sullivan Gardens, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to our family who stepped in and took over so we could enjoy our time together, Garland, Linda, Shannon, and Tommy.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Hamlett-Dobson Fall Branch Chapel, with Pastor Roy Lane officiating. The internment will follow at Church Hill Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
