Irene Browder Eidson, 82, of Bulls Gap, Tennessee, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Church Hill Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee and had lived in the St. Clair Community most of her life. Irene was a homemaker and a member of Spires Chapel Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Rogersville and at Mountain Home in Johnson City and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 21.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alfred Lee and Vona Moody Browder; two sisters, Nancy Browder and Bessie Ruth Owens; and one brother, Robert Haynes Browder.
Surviving are one daughter, Yvonna Ed Smith of Rogersville; four sons, Carl Brenda Eidson, Kenneth Eidson all of St. Clair, Donnie Eidson of Rogersville, Gale Bea Eidson of Morristown; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Minnie Kate Carl Johnson of Gray, Tennessee; six brothers, Major Mona Browder, Wayne Jane Browder, all of Gray, Clarence Browder of Church Hill, Carroll Betty Browder, Gordon Geneva Browder all of Kingsport, Paul Ann Browder of Unicoi; special friends, Deloris Foshie in Greeneville, TN and Jake and Sue Price of Plainfield, IN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Church Hill Healthcare and Rehab Center.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Spires Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. John North and Rev. Donnie Sizemore officiating. Eulogy will be given by Gordell Ely.
The family will receive friends again Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery. Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers, and special pallbearer will be Ed Smith.
