Irene Osborne went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born in Lebanon, Virginia, the youngest of 15 children. She was involved in missions, the Josie Reid Bible Study, and coordinated visitation ministries for twelve years, making sure people who were not able to attend had someone who would visit them at home. She was also a member of the Teammates Sunday School.
Irene was beloved by many and leaves behind numerous family members and friends who will deeply miss her loyal friendship and her gifts of love and hospitality. She was a true giver who shared freely of her time and talents. Irene was a hard worker all her life, always looking for ways to do good for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Robinson and Myrtle Houchins; brothers, Howard, Robert, James, Herman, Lacy, Jessee, Jack and Gene Robinson; sisters, Helen Hensley and Christine Robinson; nephew, James Lee Osborne.
Irene is survived by her husband, Bob Osborne; daughters, Karen Osborne, Debbie Osborne; son-in-law, Carter Stanley; brothers, Charles Robinson and wife, Rose and Fred Robinson; sisters, Lexie Trembly and husband, John and Edith Wade and husband, Winfred; mother-in-law, Ollie Osborne; brother-in-laws, Ralph Osborne and Don Osborne and wife, Barbara; Goddaughter, Samantha Osborne; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and special pet, Miss Daisy.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Mickey Rainwater and Rev. Jack Weikel officiating.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
