Isaac William Overbay, Sr.

Isaac W. Overybay, Sr., 84, of Mt. Carmel, TN, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2019, after a brief illness. Isaac had been a resident of Mt. Carmel for 50 years. He worked at Mead Paper for 30 years and Willamette for 4 years upon his retirement. Isaac served 6 years in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Portia DeVault Overbay; his parents, William and Juanita Overbay; two sisters, Helen Dunn and Peggy Thompson; and one brother, J.D. Overbay.

Isaac is survived by his son, Isaac W. Overbay, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jane Loggins Overbay; three granddaughters, Heather Overbay McPeek and husband Troy; Linda Lemmons; and Adriana Lemmons; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, and Madison; three brothers, Clifton Overbay, Jerry Overbay, and Bennie Overbay; and three sisters, Lillian Lane, Thelma Hale, and Mary Tucker.

The family will have a memorial service at Freedom Independent Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 with The Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cregg Church, Dennis Hagemeyer, Les Gillis, Artie Tucker, Jerry Overbay, Clifton Overbay, Bennie Overbay, and Troy McPeek.
